The Tusculum Institute is located on the campus of Sweet Briar College, in Amherst Virginia (1 hour south of Charlottesville, half an hour north of Lynchburg). Tusculum, the house, is not yet reconstructed, but we welcome visits to Sweet Briar to meet with the staff of the Tusculum Institute.

We are located off Route 29, an easy drive from Charlottesville or Lynchburg and two hours south of Washington D.C. The map below gives an overview of our location. The reconstructed Tusculum will be built near the standing ante-bellum plantation house known as "Sweet Briar House."
